iStock_000003830772XSmallPartners In Process is a confidential support group usually led by lay ministry leaders. Partners In Process seeks to support women who are affected by our husband or partner’s sexual addiction. Through talking about the pain that we are experiencing; we begin to heal and are better able to cope. We see phenomenal growth as women work through the Partners Healing Journey Workbook, by Marsha Means, M.A. and continue their growth through working the steps.

Here is what a Partners In Process group looks like: We meet together for 1 hour, 45 minutes. Partners In Process groups start with Praise and Worship. We have found this to be important. Because as we look around at the faces of the women there, we see them begin to connect with the One that created them and for a brief time the intense pain is laid at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. We then have announcements, take an offering and then begin the main portion of the meeting.

Meetings are facilitated by a rotating list of ministry team leaders. A sample opening is included in the Meeting Guide manual. The last 15 minutes are a short question and answer time. We then share a “Hopeful Hug” a short scripture, song, poem, story or testimony, given by a previously selected volunteer. We find that the issue of sexual addiction is so emotionally draining, and the stories of the women attending are all sad, that we want to leave on a happier note and provide hope for the women who feel there is none. We close the meeting in prayer.
