Prodigals International provides comprehensive, proven support and resources for men seeking freedom from unwanted sexual behavior. Our program is designed to offer a safe and confidential space for men to begin their journey of recovery and restoration. Through a combination of mentorship, counseling, and structured programs like our Homecoming Groups and the Higher Ground Men’s Conference, we empower men to break free from the cycle of addiction and pursue lives of integrity and purpose. We also provide programs churches to provide support in their congregations so that more men and families can find healing and transformation.
Prodigals offer the only faith-based 12-step recovery group model for porn & sex addiction recovery. We are passionately Christ-centered, 12-step-structured, and grace focused. Groups are available location-based in Washington, Alaska, Texas, and Alberta, Canada, and we have a Saturday morning group that meets online. We focus on one of the 12 Steps of Addiction Recovery each month, and our group leaders will help each individual work through the steps on their own at their own pace. There’s no need to schedule a drop-in; all are welcome. But, if you like, we welcome and encourage reaching out to group leaders via our group directory. Choosing to engage with a Prodigals Mentor significantly increases recovery program success. This is not surprising, as God intended for us to live in an authentic community. A Prodigals Mentor is someone who has already successfully walked through the program, and now continues to strengthen their own recovery by mentoring another man – one on one – through the 12 steps.
Prodigals provide individual and group counseling for men to uncover the underlying issues that may be driving unwanted sexual behaviors. We also provide counseling for couples who are needing tools for relational repair after there has been a disclosure of the husband’s sexual addiction or betrayal behavior. It is very common for the men in our program to combine counseling and group participation as a part of their recovery, especially in the early recovery journey. Launched in 2013, Prodigals has produced an annual conference for men called Higher Ground. Its focus is whole-life integrity and always includes key speakers on the topic of sexual integrity. The conference provides encouragement and practical tools for men to begin and sustain their recovery. It also includes content to engage our teenage young men in conversations about the harmful effects of pornography. For 2024, Prodigals has decided to SUSPEND the Higher Ground conference, as we will be focusing on our core recovery ministry by focusing our resources on strengthening and growing our 12-step Homecoming recovery groups and our counseling ministry.
